Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier name: Integrated Medical Solutions Limited (T/A IMS MAXIMS)

Publication date: May 2025

Commitment to achieving Net Zero
IMS MAXIMS is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.

Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2024 (IMS MAXIMS has not previously assessed or reported emissions. 2024 will be the baseline and current reported year).

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations
IMS MAXIMS is a software development company with offices and activities across 3 sites; UK, Ireland and Romania. The scope of this document is focused on the business operation of the UK company.

The UK office space is currently rented and consists of offices located within a floor of a much larger building. IMS MAXIMS has no direct operational control over utility payments, or the energy infrastructure and electricity usage has been estimated as a proportion of the rented space.

Most employees work from home with travel to client sites or occasional office travel.

Emissions factors were derived from the 2024 UK Government GHG reporting conversion factors for the appropriate energy type.

  • SCOPE 1 IMS MAXIMS rents office space and does not have direct operational control of gas or electricity consumption

  • SCOPE 2 Reported in SCOPE 3

  • SCOPE 3 Business travel has been calculated and includes data for ‘Home working’. IMS MAXIMS will improve reporting by identifying and including employee commute data for 2025. Electricity use associated with this rented space is metered at a floor level and adjusted for occupation at an office level and has reported under Scope 3 emissions.

Baseline year emissions:

EMISSIONS and TOTAL (tCO2e)

Scope 1 - 0
IMS MAXIMS do not own or control any emissions sources for this scope.

Scope 2 - 0
Energy consumption reported under Scope 3 as rented offices and not directly purchased but classed as serviced offices.

Scope 3 - 47.67
(Included sources)

Scope 3 Source category:
4. Upstream Transport & Distribution
– N/A
We are an IT company providing software therefore transportation and distribution of goods are not relevant to us.

5. Waste - 0
Not quantifiable due to nature of rented offices and lack of control over services and bills.

6. Business Travel - 31
Total emissions associated with all business travel linked to business operations. This mainly involves travel to customer sites and employee travel to our central office.

7. Commute & Homeworking - 15.77
Energy costs associated with homeworking captured. Commuting not captured in reporting year.

8. Upstream leased assets – 0.938
Consists of electricity usage estimated as part of our office footprint as a proportion of a larger office building. We lack direct operational control over the utility payments or energy infrastructure.

9. Down Stream Distribution & Transport - 0
As a software company, we provide a service with the associate emissions arising from employee travel to support customers. We do not have any goods as such that we sell and have therefore excluded this category.

TOTAL EMISSIONS - 47.67 (tCO2e)

Current Emissions Reporting:

Emissions reduction targets
IMS MAXIMS has not given any previous emissions reduction commitment.

We are dedicated to reaching net-zero emissions by 2035. Our goal is to significantly reduce our emissions and utilise offsetting strategies to meet this target.

Scope 3 accounts for 100% of our emissions due the nature of our business and serviced office model.

Cloud services and consumption will be reported from 2027 when mandated to cover all remaining categories.

Carbon Reduction Projects
As previously mentioned, IMS MAXIMS has not assessed or reported emissions in the past. Consequently, the baseline is the same as the present situation, making it unviable to report any meaningful emissions reduction.

In the future we hope to implement or progress further measures such as:

  • Carbon offsetting scheme for all Scope categories.

  • Enhance accuracy by quantifying emissions for our commuting employees.

  • Quantifying our cloud data usage and looking at ways to reduce consumption.

  • Ensure new office selection has energy efficiency at its heart e.g. energy efficient lighting and heating fixtures and controls, system to measure office waste, renewable electricity sources.

  • Prioritise energy-efficient and environmentally friendly equipment (e.g., Energy Star certified products).

  • Continue the process for responsible disposal and recycling of obsolete hardware (in line with ISO 27001).

Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[1].
